Descent MK3i - Map Update Available - Necessary Garmin Dive Sites Map will not install

Hi,

Updating the GARMIN Descent MK3i keeps repeating Map Update Available to install "Garmin Dive Sites Map", completes in 1 sec but is not installed at all.

Informational message for "Garmin Dive Sites Map", this mpa is required for your device to operate.

Through "Manage maps" i'm unable to select it either, "Garmin Dive Sites Map" is greyed out.

Any advise pls?

This was resolved for me with the latest 15.62 firmware update, which is going through a staged release:

Nope. Using the Map manager on the watch, it fails to see that there is a new dive map available. No option to update. Similarly, checking for new maps does not find anything. I may try dumping the Europe…

No recent update made any difference for me.

I called and talked to support and they were aware of the problem and are working on a fix. The woman I spoke to was not from the dive team so was not able…

Currently awaiting good or some news...but I received following email on 12/01/2024, where i had provided all requested information for their software team:

Hello Patrick,

We are aware of the issue and currently working to have this resolved. It would be helpful to grab a few pieces of information listed below to add to the case for our software team to review:

Please send in your Garmin Express logs: Sending App Logs From the Garmin Express App to Garmin Product Support
Then a photo of the message you are receiving that you can upload using this method here: Sending a File, Folder, Photo or Video to Garmin Product Support

Let me know via email when you get that uploaded and I will get you added to the case.

I have the same problem with a Windows PC. They asked for the same logs (which Garmin Express failed to upload). Tried again today after a week, it still does the same thing. I remember when I bought my MK2i, there was a software glitch that took a while to sort out. It was fixed eventually, so I assume the same. Still, would be nice if they got all the bugs out before launch.

Just got my new Mk3i... by the messaging here this looks line a known issue....It just popped up for me.
