Unable to install map on computer

Hi

I have a Nuvi 2597LMT and on the device the mapudate went just fine, but I get fail on the computer.

Using the latest Garmin Express 7.17.3.0 I can not install the latest mapupdate (2024.10) to my computer.

Going back a few GE versions do not help either, same issue.

The express.log shows below information.

How to solve this? Resetting the computer is out of question.

The download works fine but activating looks like it fails. I have downloaded this now over 3 times

    Have you tried clearing the already downloaded files in CoreService? Often that resolves the issue

    Yes, I cleared it every time I tried redownloading the map and between trying different versions.

    It does not matter if the device is plugged in or not, same problem everytime.

    Try updating Express, new version just released.

    I installed that new version and removed the download.

    Tried to install it to the computer again but same issue.

    They were not really helpful.

    Still was to read the FAQ, reset firewall and computer which both is not possible.

    I solved in anyway with a USB drive, hoping they might solve it later.

    btw, if I do this on another computer it works, but not on the one I want to use.

    Then it sounds like a PC rather than Express issue

    Definitely, question is what the issue is really.

    It has all the latest updates for Windows 10.

    But for now I have solved the missing map issue, men still need either usb drive or GPS inserted.

    Going by this line it could be a problem with the Windows Installer subsystem as detailed in this Microsoft article: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/win32/msi/error-codes
