Old files in \ProgramData\Garmin\CoreService\Downloads

Garmin Express leaves behind download files (firmware upgrades & map updates) in the directory \ProgramData\Garmin\CoreService\Downloads.

This is just taking up space, which can be a problem on SSD discs.

The installer should in fact delete these old download files, or there should at least be an option to do so.

Thank you for taking the time and providing your feedback on Express. I understand what you are saying and will pass your comments on to the Express team. In the Thread you linked to SUSSAMB who had a good comment on why the maps are left behind. Here is a little more information on this.

We have customers throughout the world. Many of our customers have multiple map products. For a quick example some users have maps of North America and Europe. If something happened to Express and the software had to be uninstalled and reinstalled these maps would be deleted. If this was the case the maps would need to be replaced. If this needs to be done you are now talking about 2-8GB download for North America and a 5-11GB plus download for Europe "Depending on device". This would need to be done just for the reason of uninstalling Express and reinstalling. This type of situation may cause a user a large amount of time and possible money depending on the type of internet connection they are using. This gets amplified by the user who has 6 plus map products they have downloaded. "That's a lot of downloading there."

Again I will pass your comments on to the Express development team. This may change in the future it may not but thank you again for your feedback.

    Mike
