How can I download the newest firmware for my forerunner 255 music device?

I tried to download a music app through garmin iq. This didn't work because my firmware seems to be too old.

Here is what I tried so far:

- installed garmin connect. Automatic updates didn't solve the issue.

- installed garmin express on my desktop pc. Garmin express tells me that I'm all up to date.

- joining the beta programm.

What am I missing here? Thanks for any pointers in the right direction

current Firmware version: 13.23

newest Firmware: 15.19 (forums.garmin.com/.../forerunner-255-series-software-update-15-19)

Three methods are mentioned at Updating. See if any are helpful.

thanks for the quick answer. I tried all three but with not luck.

1. Automatic updates are enabeld but weirdly don't download any updates. I also tried turning it off and on again.

2. Manuelly updating throug the watch. Enter Settings/ System/Updates -> under this menue is only 1 toggle and its for enabling the automatic updates.

3. Updating through garmin express. This does't work because express tells me that there are no new updates.

This seems so be an ongoing problem. There are many threads regarding this problem. The one I found the most active is here: https://forums.garmin.com/sports-fitness/running-multisport/f/forerunner-255-series/335468/i-cant-update-my-garmin-255?pifragment-1279=7#1648586

The informations in this thread point out that Garmin pulled back the updates and is halting the watches at the current software. Some poor fellow are stuck at 9.x. Seems like Garmin has massive problems with updates one the 255 and 955 series.
