Wrong Fenix 6 Software Release Version Displayed

I recently updated my Fenix 6 software to public production v19.20 using the downloadable file update procedure posted by Garmin in the Fenix 6 series forum.  Note that this is the procedure normally used to install beta software, but the actual production software was made available by Garmin in this manner to expedite the rollout of the latest release to those who wished to install it before Garmin Express performed the update.  The problem I am reporting is that Garmin Express, v7.8.1.0, still displays the previous v16.70 as being the software installed on the Fenix.  I have verified on the Fenix that all of the production software on the unit is the latest available: the primary software version is indeed v19.20, the GPS version is v5.30, and the sensor hub software is v11.01.  Garmin, please correct this issue with GE.  Thanks!

    Hi,

Garmin Express only shows the correct version when there is an official release to the public.

The version linked in the forum is only a public release candidate.

You will also see the version change in GE after the official release procedure from Garmin.

  • Thanks for the information.  Garmin must have pushed out the official release to my computer overnight because GE now reports v19.20 as the installed version.  Also, thanks for the link to the other posting; I learned there that the software version that is actually installed on the watch is shown in GE "Tools & Content".  Much appreciated!
