Sometimes, but not today, after a lot of attempts it opens regularly.
Usually I report the crash, but, just to be sure I'll add here the last one: express.exe.3940.zip

Well, new version this morning: 7.9.0.0... and... everything OK
Patience is the highest virtue
Thanks Garmin
Delete the current version and install the latest version directly from Garmin, see if that helps
Thanks SUSSAMB, I did it today (I was abroad until now):
Appending the dump
Please help me
Btw is it possible…
It stopped the day of my first append, so I don't think so, dear Scillonian...
Maybe I have to try some more previous version, but I think the best option would be having the last version working...
Does Visual Studio have any tools to put a trace on express.exe to see what it was doing when it crashed? The dump file suggests it ran for about 40 seconds before the error.
Thanks again for your support Scillonian!
I didn't find any tool to debug VT on GE... But VT worked regularly with many other applications of mine...
During the Garmin Express installation process automatically sets a background process to run at system startup. If you restart your system (with Garmin Express installed and running of the background process enabled) does the background process run without crashing? (Its the same executable with the '/minimized' command line switch appended.)
Forgive me Scillonian, but probably I didn't understand well the exact repro to test the Garmin background process.
If I restart the system what I see in the Task Manager (alphabetically ordered) is this:
No Garmin, as you can see, but I fear I didn't allow any Garmin process at startup! (And I never allowed it, even when it worked...)
Should I enable it?
Thanks again for your time!
I does need to be enabled for it to run at system start. You can disable it again later.
As express.exe runs for about 40 seconds before crashing I was just wondering if it was perhaps a user interface component that was causing the crash.
Well Scillonian,
