No issues here after update.
In fact, I never had issues with GE not launching or not being able to login to my account etc. This all always works fine.
Ive just installed version 7.7 on my laptop and for the first time ever it no longer recognises my fenix 6x pro . Ive rebooted watch and computer to no avail. Guess I will have to uninstall and reinstall…

I kindly brought here my experience with Windows 10 and Windows 8.1 on 5 PCs of different brands. (Windows 7 in my opinion is the responsibility of those who want to use it).
On none of these machines GEX was able to write the map to the hard disk, GEX 7.4 and GEX 7.5 did it without problems.
How many people have written here about problems with 7.4 or 7.5?
Are your problems (activation of the cards on the PC AND recognition of the devices) fixed with the new version 7.7.1.0?
Version 7.7.1.0 recognized my machine but did not complete the update and then stopped recognizing the machine. Now my Garmin device does not shut off. It shows that it is still attached to the computer. Before 7.7.1.0 I could at least use the device now it shows that it is still attached to the computer even though it was running in the car. The device is now useless.
My problems of the application intermittently hanging at the splash screen and failing to open the main application window or system tray icon since version 7.6.0.0, is now fixed with new version 7.7.1.0 available to download from the Garmin website, but not upgrade through GE.

That is of course more than annoying! Can't you turn off the devices by holding down the power button for a long time?
Try the following:
Uninstall Garmin Express from the Control Panel. Restart the system and delete this hidden folder: C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Garmin_Ltd._or_its_subsid
Then reinstall GE 7.7.1.0 cleanly. Are now at least the other devices recognized by GE?

The tip to delete the folder "Garmin_Ltd._or_its_subsid" (C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Garmin_Ltd._or_its_subsid) after an uninstallation of an old version of GE and BEFORE a new installation of GE, I can only recommend to you.
In the German forum a user had success with it - his devices were recognized again.
