No issues here after update.
In fact, I never had issues with GE not launching or not being able to login to my account etc. This all always works fine.
Ive just installed version 7.7 on my laptop and for the first time ever it no longer recognises my fenix 6x pro . Ive rebooted watch and computer to no avail. Guess I will have to uninstall and reinstall…
I think from the program the update is not found. You have to download it from here:
I updated from 7.6.0.0 and am finding, aside from the apps initial launch after updating, it fails to reopen past the splash screen. This only became a problem with 7.6.0.0 and is still present. Refer my thread that has many replies and views.
As it stands, Garmin Express is a sometimes thing - if Garmin doesn't sort this quickly, I will have to go back to 7.5.
From the release notes:
Although I installed version 7.7.0.0 cleanly, the current map City Navigator NTU 2022.10 Europe remained locked in Basecamp even after that.
I have just tried the following:
- Uninstalled Garmin City_Navigator_Europe_NTU_2022.10 via the Control Panel. I had previously activated this map in BaseCamp manually via the .gma from the device!
- Restarted the system
- Installed Garmin Express 7.7.0.0
My nüvi (2599LMT-D) is recognised. NTU 2022.10 Europe is already installed on it (but there too there were problems with activation at first)!
In Garmin Express I selected the option "Install on PC". The map is then also downloaded (C:\ProgramData\Garmin\CoreService\Downloads\Map)
At 50% (activation of the card) nothing happens for some time (The loading bar only runs through continuously from left to right):
Afterwards, an error message appears stating that there was an error during the installation of the update!
Observation: Under ProgramData\Garmin\Maps no folder City_Navigator_Europe_NTU_2022_10.gmap appears yet!
This will only appear some time later!
It is also not possible to uninstall the previous version Garmin City_Navigator_Europe_NTU_2021.30 via the control panel!
My System: Win 7 Home 64 Bit (with current patches (ESU)!)
You will most likely need to get Support to help resolving this for you.
You could also try checking the logs under C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Logs and see if you stumble upon something interesting which could point out what is the problem exactly...
Interestingly, there should not be any issues with getting previous maps uninstalled as this is different product from OS point of view... So it may be something else...

Does anyone have an explanation for this?
Ive just installed version 7.7 on my laptop and for the first time ever it no longer recognises my fenix 6x pro . Ive rebooted watch and computer to no avail. Guess I will have to uninstall and reinstall and see if that works. Very poor how something like this can happen, never had problems connecting with older versions
This updated version and previous seem to install fine, but do not see my Forerunner 945 when I connect it to PC. Existing device. Gave GE over five minutes to go from gray to green, multiple attempts. Restarts for PC and watch, no difference. Uninstalled GE, installed 7.5.0.0, problem solved, device recognized / found right away.
