5K PR Wrong

Hi, can anyone explain why the time stated as my PR for my 5K is wrong compared to what the stats actually show?  Had a pop up saying congratulations on beating your 5K time or something along those lines with a time of 23:23.  However, when you look at laps this is what I did the 5K in:

Laps  Time Cumulative Time Distance Avg Pace Avg HR Max HR Elev Gain Elev Loss Avg Run Cadence Avg Stride Length Calories Avg Temperature Best Pace Max Run Cadence Moving Time Avg Moving Pace
1 4:22.0 4:22.0 1.00 4:22 140 160 3 20 157 1.46 58 20.0 3:31 166 4:22.0 4:22
2 5:00.4 9:22.4 1.00 5:00 159 165 23 0 159 1.26 77 17.0 4:23 163 5:00 5:00
3 4:39.3 14:02 1.00 4:39 161 168 5 7 162 1.33 73 15.0 3:56 164 4:39.3 4:39
4 4:28.0 18:30 1.00 4:28 171 183 0 19 162 1.38 75 13.0 3:45 166 4:28 4:28
5 4:47.5 23:17 1.00 4:48 171 180 12 3 161 1.30 81 13.0 4:19 164 4:47.5 4:48
6 0:05.4 23:23 0.01 6:50 161 161 0 0 160 0.91 1 12.0 4:52 160 0:04 5:06
Summary 23:23 23:23 5.01 4:40 160 183 42 48 160 1.34 365 15.6 3:31 166 23:21 4:39

So looking at that I completed 5.01K in 23:23 but I actually completed the 5K in 23:17.  Granted it's only 6 seconds a difference but it's not right. So based on Garmin's logic here lets say I ran 6K in 28 mins total and on the 5th I was sitting on 23 mins.  Would it say I had a new 5K personal best of 23mins or would it ignore it and take my 5K as 28mins??

Any advice on this would be great.
