Garmin Express can not be uninstalled, installed, updated, executed

I have Garmin Express 7.0.1 and I would like to update to version 7.1.4.0.

Unfortunatelly, current version can not be uninstalled neither updated because, installer is looking for this

C:\ProgramData\Package Cache\{0934EADA-3DAF-4A21-829D-1BB3C315DCB4}v6.21.0.0\

What to do?

  • See the link to the Microsoft tool in my initial post above

  • Thank you. However, I'm getting the same error message as @diem1783 when trying to use this MS program. And I'm sharing his opinion that this isn't a problem with MS. Actually, Garmin Express won't uninstal - regardless what we've tried. And having a look into this forum, we're not alone with problems concerning updating, installing, uninstalling etc. As for me, I'm having similar problems at two completely different computers - for months. The main problem is now that on one of these computers GE even won't start anymore (and uninstal doesn't work either).

Summarized: I'm pretty sure this is a problem with GE programming.

I'm in contact with the support, who first told me that it was a singular problem, which probably only occurs to me. After I sent the links to all the threads in this forum, my request was forwarded. Let's wait and see what happens ;-)

    Thanks again.

Unfortunatelly It is not problem of Microsoft and I did not find any tool that can help you. I have tried dozen of them and GE resisted to be uninstalled or upgraded. I had to choose "brute force" approach. I have deleted all files from the garmin folder and then I deleted everything containing "garmin" word from the registry. After the restart was my OS prepared for the installation of the newest version of the GE. Frankly, I have nightmare about "new version of GE", because since they do not know how to create working update, I will have to repeat my stupid procedure to get the newest version.

  • Yet for the vast majority it's not an issue. Draw your own conclusions.

  • It's certainly a problem for me. I'm experiencing exactly the same issue. Going by my experience of random failures with various Garmin Edge products I'm inclined the opinion that the fault lies with GE rather than MS.
