Can't install update to the latest update.

I have Garmin Experss version 6.18.0.0 on win10 and trying to install the latest version 7.0.1.0. It always gets hung up at NetFx472Reist during installation and this error pops up, "Install Failed, Garmin Express could not be installed on this computer. Try installing again". I already have Garmin Express installed and just trying to update to the latest version. No matter how many times I try, it stalls at the same place during update..

Uninstall your version of Express and install the update directly from the Garmin website.

If I were you, I's stick with 6.18 for now.

Many people have high cpu cycle issues on their PCs with versions after 6.18.

In fact, I've been looking for a way to downgrade my version back to 6.18.

actually Garmin fixed some bugs with this 7.0.1.0 version so you should give it a try.

I sent the error log about the 7.0.0.0 version to Garmin since it wasn't working at all, and now the new version worked at the first try

you need to reinstall .NET framework

https://dotnet.microsoft.com/download/dotnet-framework/net472

then download installation file to your PC and launch it from local rather than use the auto-update from inside Garmin Express

Same issue here.

Windows 10 :2004

.net : 4.8

Trying to update Garmin Express to version 7.0.1.0 without any success.

There is also no way to uninstall the previous version I currently have.

I assume that there is an issue with .net 4.8 but I don't know where the installation log is stored.

hi, it's not a .net issue, but you can uninstall GE manually and then install the latest version

here's a guide you can follow, basicly you need to remove Garmin entries from your WinOS registry (you can skip the registry backup if you remove only Garmin entries)

after you cleaned the registry, you can simply delete GE folder in c:\program files(x86), reboot and finally install GE

This is a Windows and not an Express issue. Try working through this link or contact Microsoft for help docs.microsoft.com/.../troubleshoot-blocked-installations-and-uninstallations

do you see any error message? which Windows version do you have? which .net version were you trying to install? was the online or the offline/standalone installation? do you use an admin account or limited account on that PC? it might also be that .net was already installed on your machine

first check if you have Windows updates waiting to be installed, then reboot your machine and in case go with the online installation starting from here
