Lost all training data in Garmin connect

 My device would only sync data from a current day so I reset the device which did not help, so I removed the device from garmin express and re-added it. However garmin connect has started a new account and all my old training data-profile picture etc is lost. I have a blank new account. Can I recover the old one? I know its still out there as the new account suggests I connect with it-as if was a google connection!

  • If you remember your previous member ID, just log out of your new account and log into your previous one. If you don't recall your password, you can always reset it.

    You do it from the Tools and Content button in Express.

    Thanks for your reply. Garmin connect just asks for an email. I put this in as usual and I go directly to the new account. I know it is a different account as my name is typed differently. Also in connections it recommends I connect with my old account as a possible google friend! Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

    same question over here... after-adding-a-new-device-and-deleting-an-old-one-my-garmin-connect-started-a-new-account-and-i-lost-all-my-old-data

    check the email you received when you added your previous device to Garmin Connect via Garmin Express

    Thanks for your answer-I asked again as I wasnt sure if I was explaining myself properly.  So I deleted my device on garmin express-added it again, to see if this would help syncing issues, however when I clicked on garmin connect it took me to a bank new account, all my data lost. 

     My original account has  my same email, so using original welcome email doesnt work (Ive tried) As soon as I type in my email garmin express it directs me to the new account? It seems there are two accounts now with the same email? Very confused.

    Any suggestions appreciated.

    as  told you to do is to "log out" on Garmin Connect

    manage your account via garmin.com, login

    when you add a new device to Garmin Express it asks you if you want to use a new or existing account !

    going to Garmin Connect from withing Garmin Express it uses the account you made and linked to when adding the device

    is your browser filling in your login for you ? turn that off or delete that auto login

    did you get confirmation emails from garmin to your account email after adding the device twice ?

    when you are really stuck...wait until monday and call Garmin Support

    success resolving your mishap

    while logged in here in the forum open a new browser tab

    type connect.garmin.com/modern and enter

    you should now be logged into a Garmin Connect account ?

    is it also empty ?

    Dear OnlyTwo, thanks again for your time trying to help.

    I have opened garmin connect in a separate browser. There is no auto fill-the problem is when it asks for my email-I can only put in my email-which leads directly to the new account. I do not have another email linked to garmin. I have signed out, and signed in again etc. I even looked through to find my first email from them. However the sign in details are the same-my email.

    You mentioned when adding a new device whether you want a new or existing account -Im sure I didnt do this wrong-however-it seems logical that I may have made a mistake here? Perhaps Ive ended up with two accounts with the same login details. So if I delete the latest one-would I be directed to the old one. But of course I could just end up deleting the whole lot! 

    I did get another confirmation email-which I thought was strange at the time.

    I tried a new browser with coonect.garmin.com but ended up with the new account.

    Thanks again-if you think of anything else that would be great. Seems I have created a mystery!

    that is because you are logged in to the Garmin forum

    you get the garmin connect account linked to your forum user account !

    you need to open a browser from another manufacturer to login to another Garmin account

    when you tried the above test opening garmin connect while logged into the forum did you see a device in garmin connect ?

    test

    turn off every software you have running from Garmin on your computer

    log off from this forum

    login to garmin.com

    is there a device ?

    logout of the forum, tun off any open browser, turn off Garmin Express, turn off auto login tools

    open a browser and login to garmin.com

    there you have the means to delete your account

    but do not delete yet

    in the same browser open in a new tab  connect.garmin.com

    I signed out of everything garmin and signed in on another computer-still sent me to the new account :(
