Garmin Express not syncing

I am no longer able to upload date from my Forerunner 610 using Garmin Express. The watch connects to my PC with ANT+ as usual, and then tries but fails to transfer data. I have updated Garmin Express to the latest version and Garmin Express says my Forerunner's software is up to date.

Any ideas about how to resolve this?

    As of Friday I am having the same issue with my 910xt. connects and goes to "transferring data", and keeps going through that for a long time, then garmin express pops up a useful error message "there was an error synching with garmin connect". I have tried several times, turned everything on/off and added another file, all with the same outcome.
    I can only conclude that the latest update has a bug, and I assume it was done over the weekend sometime.
  • It may be a brand new year, but apparently Garmin Express still sucks...

    Just adding another voice to the list here: last uploaded on 12/28 just fine, tried to upload today and got the classic hang halfway through the sync with the ever-so-user-friendly, "Garmin inadvertently released poor software on your again, tough luck..." error message.

    I upgraded to 5.0, disconnected and then reconnected my 910XT, nothing. The data isn't even being moved over from the device and sitting dead in the queue on the local PC. Maybe this is the year where I finally let this lemon go and switch to a brand that actually knows how to code software? :mad:

    My 405 will not sync either, I have been trying for last week or so. I do have runs from February 16 on it and will be gutted to lose them. yes I should have saved them more often but not as easy when working away etc. Any ideas please? Any new software?

    I haven't been able to upload a run since 1/3. So frustrating. I emailed tech support and it's been almost a week with no response.

    Having the same issue here... Keep getting the "There was an error syncing with Garmin Connect" message when I try to sync. Extremely frustrating. If it's not fixed soon I will be very dissatisfied with my recent purchase of the Forerunner 15.

    610 won't synch either

    I have had the same problem with my 610. Here is part of what I wrote to Garmin via the Help form, but have no idea if they received it. My displeasure is profound.

    As you can see in my Connect log, the last time my 610 was able to synch with my computer was May 14, 2016. EVerything after that I have input manually, and it still records distances with GPS. I have tried updating the software, resetting the watch, and deleting all History, but all to no avail. In my local Windows7 folder (at C:\ProgramData\Garmin\GarminConnect\Unknown ANT Device-3871828832) there are no new .fit files in the FIT_TYPE_4 folder. However, when it comes into range with the USB ANT chip, it still activates and says "uploading data" (or similar).
  • I am having the same issue with my Edge 705.
    I connect the device....hit sync....message comes back " There is nothing to sync at this time"

    I have been able to go around this by going to "activities" in Connect and doing a manual import of each file.

    I sent a email....but I'm sure they'll say they no longer support the 705

    I upgraded to the 5.0 version a few days ago when I started having problems. I just checked and see they have 5.1 now.
    I just installed and but I have no data to upload now.

    I have had the 705 since 2010 and never had an issue. Maybe it's telling me to spend money.

    Sent 2 emails.....no response.
