Garmin Express not syncing

I am no longer able to upload date from my Forerunner 610 using Garmin Express. The watch connects to my PC with ANT+ as usual, and then tries but fails to transfer data. I have updated Garmin Express to the latest version and Garmin Express says my Forerunner's software is up to date.

Any ideas about how to resolve this?

    Garmin VivoFit Stopped Syncing

    Also sent emails to Garmin. No response. Got my Vivofit for Christmas. Worked for about 2 weeks. Now will not sync. Cannot see any data. Error message: "Garmin Express is unable to connect to the background service and will close". This dog is being returned to the store as a piece of junk.
  • How are you connecting it? ( blue tooth? Usb?)
    I connect via usb and can see the files to upload....but it would be nice to have Express work the way it's supposed to.

    910xt won't sync either

    I haven't been able to download a workout since 1/16 from my 910xt to my laptop via ant+. Running up to date software (3.20) on the watch and Garmin Connect (5.1.1.0)

    My 610 no longer syncs after 1/21/2017

    I am current with Garmin Express v 5.1.1.0

    My 610 stopped syncing after 1/21/2017. Any word about the issue or resolution?
  • After an Express update if you have issues the first thing to try is to remove the device from Express and then re-add it, have you tried that?
  • I'm on Garmin Express 5.1.1.0 and it is having the same issue. It was working fine until today. I guess my computer did an update. Either way it refuses to sync the data. Has anyone had any luck with this issue since January?

    Firstly, I shouldn't have to do that, but yes I did try it simply to attempt to sync my data. It didn't work. As soon as I click sync it goes immediately to "There was an error syncing with Garmin." It doesn't even really try to sync. They it just sets there and attempts every so often and fails again. Suggestions would be appreciated.
  • Just an update... I had to delete all Garmin software and then reinstall Garmin Express, etc. Now it seems to work again.
  • That's good news. I was about ready to say hard reset your device, since removing/adding from GE had no impact.
