Nuvi 2457 LMT Missing required file for traffic services

I have updated my Nuvi 2457 LMT with Garmin Express recently and when I put it in my vehicle it came on and show a message box: A file required for traffic services is missing. Contact Garmin Support. What can I do to solve this issue?
  • Welcome to the forum. Perhaps do as it said and contact Garmin Support ;)
  • I would add to contact support by phone rather than e-mail and be near your computer so the technician will be able to access your nuvi remotely.

    Thanks a lot for your fast reply.

    Yesterday I sent an email to technical support about this issue and now I need to wait until three days for answer.

    I'm here in Brazil and I think support by email is the better way to solve, but if then need a remote connection I can do this.
  • You might also try in the meantime running Express again and see if it will detect the missing file, I'm not hopeful though that it will work.

    I did it many times but Garmin Express show me that it's all OK.





  • Ah well then you'll need to wait for support to reply to you. I believe Garmin know about this issue and will send you a file named UnitID_Traffic_Pay_Table_Fix.zip which resolves the issue.

    The Garmin technical support replied my email yesterday and them asked me to install the Garmin Express to load file/firmware. I have done it many times but there nothing to update. I've replied the email and now I'll wait again.

    Normally this is a issue with the port on the unit. If the software update did not resolve the issue. If you wish to set up a repair please contact the Brazil office directly.
