Install Map to Computer

Hi,

wonder if you can help. I have a zumo 349LT and I've registered, connected and updated maps. However, when I click Map Options the Install to Computer button is greyed out.

Any ideas? Everything else seems to work OK

thanks

GE version 4.1.27.0 was released a while back and doesn't resolve the problem :(
  • Thank you for posting the fact that the new release has been released and that it solved your problem.

I have now downloaded the new version of Express and indeed it has allowed me to up date my device AND install the map on my computer. I did this via the update map option selecting device and computer, but this was not where I had the problem though. I have only looked, now that the map had been updated, at the page where the "greyed out" Install to Computer button was not working and it does seem to be active.

I too downloaded GE 4.1.27.0 when it was released and the option to install to computer had been removed. However, the publication of a new European map (2017.20) has triggered the options to download to Device, Computer and Device or Computer only. Due to an incredibly slow internet speed I haven't as yet had the opportunity to test it but the options have reappeared in GE on the map update screen.

It's working here now as well, the progress bar didn't work on my PC and doesn't on my laptop either but if you hover the mouse pointer over the bar you get a popup that shows the download rate.

Same as OswaldB here. Progress bar not functional using GE 4.1.27.0 whilst downloading NTU 2017.20

    Strange, worked for me.

Strange indeed. I wonder if it's because I originally selected to Download to Device & Computer and it came up with an estimated download time of over 24hrs (1Mb internet connection courtesy of British Telecom's rural rollout policy). This is my normal modus operandi and has always worked in the past.

However, to circumvent this I cancelled the download and reinstigated it by downloading to Computer Only with the intention of using Mapinstall in Basecamp to put the map (Europe 2017.20) onto the zumo. The download worked fine and installed onto the computer with the progress bar working. I can now see 2017.20 in Basecamp and 2017.1 is on the device.

I know this is off-topic but Mapinstall in Basecamp will not allow me to delete 2017.1 from the device to make enough room for 2017.2. The option to delete 2017.1 is greyed-out. I can select 2017.2 to install but it comes up with the red space warning masseage. There is no SD card in the device.

Short of going through the lengthy download again, this time downloading the map to Device Only, is there a workaround to get Mapinstall to delete the existing 2017.1 map prior to installing the 2017.2 map? Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks.
