Hi,
I'm in France and purchased my Etrex touch 35 2 weeks ago. In France it comes with Topo Active Maps installed for West and East Europe. France is on the West Map.
It worked very well until I downloaded GARMIN EXPRESS two days ago ... When I launched it, it recognized my Etrex 35 and proposed immediately map updates for Topo Active West and Topo active East, so I launched it and it seemed to work. The next day GARMIN EXPRESS proposed again an update for those same maps, which was strange, but why not ...
The problem is that now I only have Topo Active EAST V3 on my GPS and the Topo Active WEST V3 has disappeared (unfortunately the one I need to use in France !).
When I launch again GARMIN EXPRESS, it still proposes to UPDATE the Topo Active WEST V3, but it doesn't work and I get immediately an error message in red at the top (error during update).
The Topo Active EAST V3 is considered as being up to date and I can launch the reinstall of it as many times as i want which works well.
When I launch basecamp I have on my Etrex 35 now 2 releases of the Topo Active EAST (V3 is on gmapprom.img and old V2 is on gmapprom1.img).
So my analysis is the following one : when I bought my Etrex, it came with Topo Active West on gmapprom.img and Topo Active East on gmapprom1.img, but GARMIN EXPRESS installed the new release of Topo Active East on gmapprom.img, and Topo Active East old release remained on gmapprom1.img ...
Instead of that GARMIN EXPRESS should copy the new WEST on gmapprom.img and the new EAST on gmapprom1.img, which is not the case and doesn't work.
I can't reinstall the WEST part (not proposed by GARMIN EXPRESS), and when I relaunch the reinstall of EAST it replaces every time the gmapprom.img file.
Can GARMIN EXPRESS be configured again to match the real Etrex 35 configuration for Europe ?
I really need help !
