Hello, I have a Garmin Oregon 650 GPS running V4.30 firmware. I'm using Windows 7 64 bit. I use my own custom maps (kmz) generated by OkMap on both the GPS & within Basecamp. All worked well until Basecamp V4.4.4...
Whilst the kmz maps loaded within Basecamp V4.4.4 work fine, I'm now getting a Basecamp error when it accesses the custom maps on the GPS (via USB) as follows:
1. If the custom map is loaded onto the GPS flash memory:
There was a problem communicating with Oregon 650 (Unit Id: nnnnnnn) (F:).
An error has occurred with the following file(s):
Garmin/CustomMaps/Bunyaville (GDA94 Z56).kmz
2. If the custom map is loaded onto the microSD card within the GPS:
There was a problem communicating with Memory Card (H:).
An error has occurred with the following file(s):
Garmin/CustomMaps/Bunyaville (GDA94 Z56).kmz
Note, there is no problem with the GPS rendering & using the custom map, it still works fine with the same kmz map i.e. it is solely Basecamp V4.4.4
I tested this on a second Windows 7 (32 bit) machine and Basecamp V4.4.4 on this machine generates the same error.
I uninstalled Basecamp V4.4.4 and reinstalled Basecamp V4.4.2 (from a backup) and V4.4.2 does NOT generate the error. It would seem that V4.4.4 has a regression...
Just wondering if anyone else has this problem?
Thanks
Alan
