Thank you all in advance for any feedback you may have.
  • Something is wrong with 4.3.5 ...
I got greyed zoom portion of map on City Navigator North America NT 2015.10 (who now take 10 to 20 seconds to get correctly displayed !!!), but every thing is fine with few old maps ex. City Navigator North America NT 2014.40 zooms as fast as I used my mouse wheel !
what is wrong with BaseCamp ? NT 2015.10 was ok before the upgrade !!!!
Gezzz can I roll back to something that work correctly ???

NEVER upgrade before next morning trip !!! NEVER upgrade to untested Garmin stuf !!!!

Yes this is so cool !!!! I had to reinstall the map on both gps and computer !
because , I have NO clues , it just stopped working !!! Good job Garmin !!!
  • You seem alone with that problem so something probably went wrong in your setup somehow.

Is the map on your device or on your PC? Meaning when you hook up the device, is this when you see 2015 NT? Is the 2014 map on the PC or on the device?
  • Exact same deal as with the previous version mentioned in my post on that thread. Here is the original post:
I have Windows 8.1 running on a Dell XPS 8700 desktop with a Samsung S24C450 monitor.
I just upgraded to Basecamp 4.3.4. I am trying to create a route from a selected track, but I get the following error: "There was an error calculating this route." I get this whether I use Direct routing, or whether I use one of the non-direct activity profiles (I'm using motorcycling with various avoidance types and route preferences).
I get this error whether I R-click on the track in the left pane and select 'Create route from selected track', or whether I double click on the track, and then click on the 'Create Route' button in the track information window that opens up.

I can create a track from the selected route just fine. When I then select that newly created track, rename it, and try to create a track from the renamed route, I get the same error as before. I tried this with tracks I had under my previous version of BC, as well as with completely new tracks I created after installing BC 4.3.4.

I believe my previous BC version was 4.3.1. I could create tracks from routes and vice versa just fine using that version.

So in BC 4.3.1, which was my first installation of BC, everything worked fine. Now in 4.3.4 and 4.3.5, I cannot create a route from a track. I have attached an example of a GPX file this is happening with, but just a reminder it happens not only with this file, but every track I try.
Thank you for any assistance in correcting this issue.
  • Nothing wrong with the file, using Basecamp 4.3.5 I was able to create a route from the track without any problem. I also converted it back to a track and again to a route without issue.

I suggest you try uninstalling then reinstalling Basecamp as you may have a corrupted program somehow.

Problem description: the auto-update function in BaseCamp doesn't work; several users on http://forum.gps.nl have reported the same issue (same problem as SUSSAMB reported earlier in this thread).

Will I lose my data? Do I need to backup data files to restore what I already have in BC? I'm a BC noob, so excuse the question if it is basic stuff.
  • An uninstall/reinstall doesn't lose your data ... but you could always make a backup just in case. See File, Back up in the toolbar.
