I just recently bought a used 2460LMT off of ebay.
It seems to have persistent problems that make me suspicious that it may have at least some bad memory cell pairs (in RAM).
Not exactly sure what type of memory is in the 2460 but I'll take a guess it is DRAM due to lower cost. But computer RAM still
consists of microscopic pairs or transistors and capacitors that comprise a "Memory cell". There may be some ECC correction of faults
built in, but once enough of these cells fail, it can cause mysterious problems to develop.
Units that have been exposed to high heat environments or shock (such as from being dropped) can cause RAM errors to develop.
The results can be things like unexpected reboots, user data that wont delete after a hard reset, mysterious problems with routes not fully loading and other inconsistencies like that.
I have experienced all of these with this unit.
Now, obviously it is also possible that other electronic flaws such as bad connections, circuit board flaws, bad batteries can also cause similar problems.
Just wondering if anyone else has had these types of problems or if there's a thread here somewhere that discusses this.
I'm returning the unit in any event, but still interested in your experience.
Thanks
