Route does not track via road

I am still on the learning curve with Basecamp, I did use Mapsource for a few years.
I tried to create a route in Basecamp, I input the the 2 waypoints from my list but the track created is as the crow flies, it does not follow any routing, I tried to reverse the route and re-calculate etc, but its still maintains the same straight line route.
My other routes created earlier last year are still their, but the new one does not. I need to use this as I also need to calculate fuel for the journey and over night stops.
I am using the latest version 4.1.1 on my PC laptop.
I hope that can be fixed before next week??? please.

I'm having the same problem in both BaseCamp and BaseCamp Beta. Has anyone found the answer or cure yet?

Only get straight line routes. Do recalculate, reinstalled programs, etc - still only straight line routes. They work properly on my Nuvis and my handhelds but Basecamp route will not follow the roads.

What map are you using in Basecamp? if it's not a routeable map you'll get straight lines.

My problem was traced to a faulty waypoint, it had originally been in my mapsource, and I had copied it over to basecamp, delete any waypoints, and create new, thats what fixed my problem.

I am having the same problem. In the morning the route which I laid worked fine, but later in the day when trying to put together another route it all came out as the crow flies. even when using the same road. Don't understand it. I even set everything back to factory default and lost map details in the process.

Have you tried to rebuild the route, but move your waypoints slightly away from your intended targets?

I would suggest you contact the map developer/compiler, and get them to check their map, maybe there is an upgrade?

On your GPS or in Basecamp? If in Basecamp double click the route and ensure it doesn't show 'Direct' in the activity box top right. That's really the only thing that could make it show straight lines if it's worked before.
