4.0.5 is a quick maintenance release to fix 2 issues related to folder selection. This release also re-fixes an issue with find toolbar visibility not being remembered.

You can download it at http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=4435, or update from within BaseCamp.

IMHO this thread, originally a release notes post, was hijacked.
It would have been *much better* had JONLUP created a new thread about POI management instead of posting it here. More people would have noticed it - both those who could contribute to that topic and those who could learn. Too much useful information gets buried in threads whose topic is not related.

You're absolutely right, I was expecting that someone will say that :)
To be 100% correct I should have started a new thread.

On the other hand, the topic is an announcement: here's the new version of the software, here're the new features/bugs, here're some links with info about it. I don't know, what else would you say and you wouldn't want to be interrupted while doing that?

And please read again my posts, somewhere there I was commenting about features (or the lack of them) in this new BC version and what I would find useful in this piece of software.

If I was completely offtopic, my apologies.

    Cheers.

I've been trying to get BaseCamp's BaseStation working with my Rino655t for some time now to no avail.

Yes I did the unit update, as well as made sure BaseCamp was up to date, and enabled BaseStation in the Rino655t Interface setting under Setup, System.

I did the myDashboard updates, Garmin Communicator plugin update, verified the Rino655t showed up to date there also, downloaded and installed the USB Drivers software version 2.3.1 (http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=591), verified BaseCamp showed 4.0.5.

I fought with this for hours, lost hair, and gained a few grey hairs while I was at it.

Finally I had a funky idea, so I went into Control Panel, System, Device Manager, and saw the Garmin listed, but with a tiny yellow triangle (remember, I already did all the updates). Keep in mind, BaseCamp worked fine, uploading and downloading waypoints, tracks, etc...

I clicked on the Garmin device (think it was Garmin USB GPS), clicked on driver, and it showed 2.3.1.0. Driver Details button showed the same thing, for the grmnusb.sys driver.

Well, I clicked on Update Driver button anyhow. It said it found a newer driver?!?! I told it to install it, and clicked finshed.

I opened up BaseCamp, connected the Rino655t by the USB cable, and once it was connected and I told the unit's screen promt to go into BaseStation mode, lone and behold, all of a sudden BaseCamp showed BaseStation under the Rino655t!!!

And if that didn't get all, there the unit is on the map, and things start working like they should.

    Go figure...
