i had purchased an iphone 5 which arrived last friday. I loaded it with basecamp mobile and tried to connect it to the fenix but with now luck Basecamp kept crashing. However today (sunday in oz) it connected to the fenix. However it still will not connect to my iphone 4s for some reason. which is what i will probably use or my hiking not sure why not. However basecamp mobile is fairly basic and restricted with not many options and one cannot even look at history unless the fenix is connected by bluetooth leon
Thanks Falagar. Is there a forum for the fenix that the fenix team looks like? I don't see one in the watch section? If not are there plans for one. It'd be nice for the customers who have purchased and are "beta" testing the watch and software to report there issues directly to the correct team.
But I don't think there is such a forum. Traditionally it's only been the Desktop App Group (BaseCamp, HomePort, MapInstall etc.) that is maintaining a high forum presence.
The other teams prefer to get feedback via Product Support. Link below.
Basecamp mobile updated today in the app store. I have not given it a good workout yet but the ip 4s now connects and ones activities on the fenix show up in it.But in the next few days i'll give it a workout and report back leon
Been having a tough time trying to get basecamp mobile working with my iphone 5s and fenix.
When trying to pair (i am successful but I see these issues): - I see 2 entries for my fenix device when in Bluetooth settings page on my iPhone. - "Forget this device" only removes 1 of the 2 entries.
When trying to use basecamp mobile - only finds the fenix once. - when I press "scan for devices" in BM, the fenix cycles on its screen 4-7 bluetooth pair auth codes
I've restored the iPhone and factory reset the fenix, but still seeing issues. Ironically the notifications work great.
I have a 5s also and I'm trying to pair a Tactix. It pairs fine and like you the iphone notifications come over fine. The problem is that Basecamp mobile will not recognize the Tactix is connected. Clicking the 'scan for devices' never finds anything. Mine was working before my iphone updated to 7.0.4.
So I've been playing around with my Tactix and iPhone today and figured a few things out. Apparently the Bluethooth under Setup->Bluetooth is not used with Basecamp Mobile but rather only for iPhone notifications. So this Bluetooth has to be turned off. Then go to Share Data->Basecamp. Then click scan for device in basecamp. This is how to make connectivity for Basecamp mobile. It seems odd that you have to toggle one or the other on/off to toggle between using notifications or basecamp mobile. Maybe they'll merge these connections so that isn't necessary in the future. I also just noticed that a new beta release 4.05 was released today that may help you THECYR.
Changes made from version 4.02 to 4.05: Added support for displaying next and final vertical distances during track navigation. Improved display of sunrise and sunset time when used on the time page. Improved vertical speed. Fixed a possible issue where duplicate copies of fenix would show on paired phones. Fixed a shutdown that could happen when using ANT accessories.
