Base Camp Problem : Transferring of Data

There seems to be a problem with my Base Camp. When I try to transfer data from my 2 GPS devices (62st and Nuvi 2455) the transfer never completes.

I phone Garmin and told me to delete the Registry Software Key, to unstall and install Basecamp, return both devices to factory defaults but all of this did not solve my problem.

I appreciate any help on this matter.

So let me take a stab.

You connect one of your devices to your PC, then check to make sure that it shows up in the left side browser on your PC, then select the "all data" under the device name in the browser. All that is on your device should show up in the lower section of the browser on your PC.

Then you seleect what you want to transfer using CTRL key to select more than one item. Then right click and select "Send to" and then scroll down to the Folder or List in Basecamp that you want it to show up.

Is this what your are doing in your efforts to transfer data?

  • That's a weird jpg if you're trying to transfer data from your GPS ...you get the green line when you're downloading to it. Will wait to see what you say to Rooster!

I did not make myself clear. When you plug the device the first time, Basecamp scans what waypoints and routes you have in that device. This scan takes for ever and no waypoints or routes are displayed. See attached photo. This happens to my 62st and not to my Nuvi 2455LMT. The latest firmware update for 62st seems to be bugged. Thanks.

Could you zip up the contents of your device's garmin\gpx folder and see if you can attach it here? And also provide the Garmin\GarminDevice.xml file?

You can also send me a PM. If you have trouble attaching the files, you can put them on Dropbox or Skydrive and share them with me via PM.

That would enable me to simulate your device and the data that's on it, and see if I can find out what's wrong.

Good news is, I can reproduce it. Bad news is, I am not sure why it's happening yet. I'll keep you posted.
