Problem with Login to Forums

I can log in to the Forum and it says that I can post replies.

It continues to show this as I enter a reply but as soon as I commit it it says I am not logged in.

What am I doing wrongly?

    Works sometimes, not others.


    Understood, but since it works for some of us, it's worth-while suggesting it until the the root cause is found and fixed.

    I have no problem with the suggestion and appreciate the input, as long as it is stated that it is not always going to work.

    I have this problem also, I had to create yet another account to post - I logged in fine but when I tried to post a message it went into the routing asking for name and pw - the name and PW I normally use wouldent let me in, even though it let me change my PW - so I created another account

    I post to so many forums these days, and this is the only one that I have ever had such a hard time with. It makes using the forums extremely frustrating. I've tried multiple machines and multiple browsers, from different locations and it is a constant issue.

    PLEASE FIX THIS! It's the only real support we get.

    Mine did this until I deleted all the Garmin cookies. It worked for me.

    Yeah, it works....sometimes. In fact I just logged in at the top right. I then get the message "Thanks for logging in CMAJEWSK"... It then brings me to forum but I see I am no longer logged in...WTF???? :confused:

    I had to battle this again this morning even though I could easily log in to my.garmin.com. PLEASE GET IT FIXED

    Same here. Yesterday I emailed them (as a reply to a prior email thread on this same topic), and never heard back. My message was:

    Once again, I am unable to login to forums. Allow me to describe
    what happened. I wanted to see what posts I had made recently
    so I went to forums.garmin.com and entered my username and
    password and it logged me in... great. I went to my profile page
    and selected the option to show all posts by PLARKINJR. The screen
    that appeared said saw "sorry no matches". That is when I noticed
    the login boxes blank in upper right had gone blank; I wasn't logged
    in any more. So I entered the same username and password I'd used
    2 minutes earlier and got the "sorry too many failed logins" message.
    And the following was in my email INBOX:

    > Someone has tried to log into your account on Garmin Forums with an incorrect password at least 5 times. This person has been prevented from attempting to login to your account for the next 15 minutes.

    I will point out the following:
    * The IP Address listed in your email resolves to a184-51-156-64.deploy.akamaitechnologies.com
    * That is NOT the IP I get back from https://www.whatismyip.com/

    That this issue continues unresolved is ridiculous. Many other
    visitors to the forums complain of this. I visit numerous forums
    and none have the issues that forums.garmin.com has. PLEASE FIX IT!!!!!

    Then, today I had much difficulty posting a new thread, and sent the following additional EMAILs:

    ARGH! OK, here's a new (bad) behavior....
    I was checking threads out again this AM and wanted to
    reply to https://forums.garmin.com/showthread.php?t=27434&page=6
    I was able to successfully log in using the boxes in the upper
    right. But when I hit REPLY, it asked for my username and
    password again. Upon entering them, it displayed the following
    message (note 6 out of 5 attempts):

    You have entered an invalid username or password. Please press the back button, enter the correct details and try again. Don't forget that the password is case sensitive. Forgotten your password? Click here!

    If you do not have a myGarmin user account please click register!

    You have used 6 out of 5 login attempts. After all 5 have been used, you will be unable to login for 15 minutes.

    See the attached screenshot....
    It simultaneously shows me logged in, and that I failed
    to login. It appears I may be PARTIALLY logging in at
    times. For instance, it says I logged in yesterday, when
    in fact I TRIED (at the time indicated) and was denied,
    hence my email yesterday on this subject.

    Additional information on this issue:
    I was able to get logged in "enough" to add a post.
    However, as soon as I sent it I was suddenly no longer logged
    in and cannot get logged back in. I have received two
    "Failed Login Notification on Garmin Forums" emails in the past
    5 minutes. They report the following DIFFERENT IP addresses
    as the sources:

    Name: a184-51-156-67.deploy.akamaitechnologies.com
    Address: 184.51.156.67

    Name: a96-17-145-22.deploy.akamaitechnologies.com
    Address: 96.17.145.22

    HOWEVER, https://www.whatismyip.com/ reports my IP is
    xxCensoredxx which makes sense as I am on Verizon
    and that address reverse resolves to
    pool- xxCensoredxx.dllstx.fios.verizon.net

    I post these details here because I have little confidence that the people at "Product.Support@Garmin" have any way of getting this issue escalated to the right people. It is becoming clear that there is some sort of "akamai" involvement in this problem. And the solution is going to have to come from Garmin's IT folks, not their hardware or software product folks. By posting here, I hope the forum admin's can see the details. I realize most garmin customers on these forums gain little from my posting these details.

    This LOGIN stuff is RIDICULOUS! I use Chrome.. (not that it seems to make a difference) No trouble getting into 'MyGarmin', then use the same login to forums and it doesn't work.. or try to post and it asks me to login again and it times me out with my first try!

    One time I got in using my USERNAME in Caps (in the standard computer world, usernames are NEVER case sensitive, only PW's!)

    Garmin loves to uses us a BETA testers with their software, GPS firmware that cause more grief.. and now this login issues... This is so freakin annoying!

    Oh, and I'm typing fast cause I have a feeling this may be last time I get in for awhile!! ...and yes, I have sent NUMEROUS emails to the webmaster, never a reply!
