Problem with Login to Forums

I can log in to the Forum and it says that I can post replies.

It continues to show this as I enter a reply but as soon as I commit it it says I am not logged in.

What am I doing wrongly?

I also have this problem Windows 7 Chrome 16. It is almost impossible to get logged in. I have 5 different user accounts some times one will work. Always one problem or another but same as your problems.

Same here (Win 7, Chome 19.0). Sent an email to Garmin support but no reply yet.

I expect I will get logged out after trying to submit this reply....
  • I ran into this problem today. It occured in IE9 after I went to...

Tools > Internet Options > General tab > Browsing history "delete" button >
I had unchecked "Preserve Favorites website data."

Gettng the message that I've exceeded my login attempts. Nonetheless, I could login fine in Chrome and Firefox.

I went back to IE9 > Tools > Internet Options > General tab > Browsing history "delete" button > checked "Preserve Favorites website data."

I was then able to login to the forums using IE9.

I apologize for any troubles. I sent a request to IT. Hopefully they can do something about it.

Any updates? I'm finally in for the first time since June 25. I did nothing different today from what I've tried almost daily. My last interaction with support ticket KMM25604131I15977L0KM (opened 6/28) was that they could login as me from their side, and that they are not aware of any current issues.

Per their request earlier in the interactions I cleared cookies, even used a different computer and none of it solved the problem. It was suggested that I might also try logging in via my.garmin.com so I tried that and it did not recognize my password. So I did the "forgot password" thing, used the one it sent to email, and then reset the password to the one I have on file. That all worked, but then a few days later, same thing: my.garmin.com did not accept my password, and I had to go thru the forgotten password and reset.

I really would like to participate, but it's nearly impossible if the system rejects my login for no apparent reason.

That just shows that there is nothing wrong with your account. Fact is, there are many users (self included) with the same issue. I don't think they understand that this is not your issue, but a problem with the system.

Maybe I'll try to call and reference your ticket.

Yep. One of the biggest parts of my paycheck comes from designing and maintaining "authentication" systems. While a customer account information may be correct in the database, and match what the customer is typing on his PC.... if something in between those is broken, the customer will be unable to authenticate. And if the system has several redundant paths the data can take (for speed and/or fault-tolerance), but one or more path is "semi-broken", well.....

I entered my tickets on this issue here
    https://support.garmin.com/support/searchSupport/escalateForm.htm
but it takes several tries to get all the options close enough to get it submitted. Similar tickets for same issue:
    (KMM24813565I15977L0KM) - 4/17/2012
    (KMM25066563I15977L0KM) - 5/14/2012

I've had the same problems trying to make several posts this last week (I only joined the forum a week ago). Log in - click on "Reply" - message says I'm not logged in yet at the top of the screen it says "Welcome, cheesespreadbutties". It's done the same thing if I log in at the main forum page, the sub group pages or at any individual thread pages.

Sometimes I can get into the reply editor screen the get thrown out when I click "Submit Thread". So I now type in my post in a word processor then copy and paste if it lets me in. That way I don't lose what I typed.

Does the same on two PCs - one XP Pro 64 bit with IE8 and one XP Pro 32 bit with IE8.

Just tried to submit this post and the same thing happened.

The problem continues - sheer tenacity seems to be the only thing that worked but frustration is building.

I had similar issues and they seemed to disappear after I checked the "Remember Me" check box by the log-in text boxes.

    Works sometimes, not others.
