Insert Topo West CD message?

I replaced my Garmin Legend Cx and Mapsource US Topo with a new Oregon 450T and Basecamp.
Now when I open Basecamp it still asks me to insert the Top West CD before I can do anything??? Is there a way to get around this, I Don't want to have tyo lug around a bunch of CDs when I go camping or hunting and want to download or upload tracks and waypoints. Stupid!

I can't help with the CD issue, but would just add that your Oregon 450t already contains the full 100k topo for the entire US. Once you resolve your problem with the error message, there is no need to install anything on the computer. Just connect the Oregon and Basecamp can access the maps directly on the Oregon and display them on your computer.

If you do not need the old topos just go into the Windows Control Panel and use the "Uninstall a program" item to uninstall the Mapsource Topo files. That will stop the program from trying to load them for you.
