I use Basecamp 3.2.1.
Here´s what I did:
- Created a new Collection under "My Collections"
- Copied a Track from my Oregon to this collection.
- Since I also have Photos from that Trip, I right clicked the Track and used the "Geotag Photos using the Track".
- After Import, I realized, that the time of the Photos and Track are not in Synch, because they are not placed correctly.
- I selected all the Photos in the Collection and pressed DEL, which removed the Photos from the collection.
- I added them again with the Geotag feature (took me a few attempts to figure out the correct time).
After that I was happy and all looked fine so far. But I encountered 2 problems:
- If I click on My Collection, I can see all my previous import attempts. It took me a while to clean that up manually. Removing Photos from a Collection seems to move them to the My Collection.
- Even after cleaning up the "My Collection", I was able to find the Thumbnails on my Harddrive in %appdata%\Garmin\Basecamp\Database\3.2\Thumbnails
I could clean that up manually too of course. But shouldn´t that be done by Basecamp? I can assume, if you are working with Photos a lot you will waste a lot of HDD space with thousands of files (although they are small, they are not necessary anymore).
