GPX data from Basecamp to Garmin Dakota

I'm trying to export a track and some waypoints from Garmin basecamp to the internal storage of a Garmin Dakota. When I view the device on basecamp the waypoints and Routes/tracks show up alongside my older waypoints, but whenever I turn on the Dakota it shows non of the new tracks/routes/waypoints. Furthermore, if I try sending the files to the Dakota basecamp usually crashes. I was wondering if anyone had any insight. The GPX data came from Gaia, but I've tried converting it to Garmin compatible data already, and it loads perfectly into basecamp, and it is in the internal storage of the Dakota, I just can't see it/access it on the Dakota itself. Try exporting the data from Basecamp then copy the exported file to the GPX folder on your device.

Thank you very much, although I've tried copying the data straight into the GPX folder in the Garmin, to no success.

Then I suspect Gaia is the issue, assuming routes etc created normally in BaseCamp transfer ok.

I've just checked and the routes made in basecamp do not transfer ok. They show up within the device when viewed through basecamp, but when I turn the GPS on they do not show up.

Is there a chance that the Dakota uses a different file format to GPX/or a different type of GPX? It has plenty of storage.

So not even routes etc created in BaseCamp transfer? Sounds like a device issue then and not a BaseCamp one. I'd try a master reset of the device to see if that resolves it.

I've tried fully formatting the device and it is still not displaying any tracks or routes I try to put onto it from basecamp :/

Then I'm out of ideas, sorry. If you were using a sd card there could be other issues but as you've said you're sending data to the device there's no point in suggesting sd card problems.

On my GPSMap62s there is a menu option to show or hide tracks on the map. When I transfer a GPX file to the GPSMap62s, the tracks are hidden by default and I have to select "Show on map" for each track. Maybe it's the same on a Dakota.

Maybe but waypoints aren't even showing up.
