What version of Google Earth will NOT auto-update

New laptop with Win 10 Home. I'm trying to reestablish the link between Basecamp and Google Earth.

I stayed at Basecamp 4.6.2 and installed Google Earth Pro 7.3.1 32-bit. Entered the instructions that I got from here a long time ago.

Worked perfectly. One day later and Google had automatically updated to 7.3.3 and the linking no longer works.

Uninstalled and reinstalled 7.3.2. Link works fine, then within a day GE auto-updated again.

Back to the Direct Install download section for GE. Their web site warns that 'some' of the versions do not auto-update. But they do not specify which ones those are.

I have tried 7.3.2 and 7.3.1 and they both auto-updated. I looked in the settings for both and there is no option to turn off auto-updating.

So does anyone know which version(s) do NOT auto-update?

Thanks! That seems to be 'holding' for now. Of course, now it prompts me to download the latest version every time it opens, but I can live with that.

That would have taken me a long time to work my way down to that version from 7.3.3. LOL

I am still using BC 4.6.2 and was happily using it with GE Pro (64 bit) until installing a GE Pro update ten days ago. Can you recommend a version of GE Pro that still works with BC?

Oops - 7.1.8.3036 (32-bit) is GE Pro - I will give it a try!

I just stumbled across a setting that stops GE from reminding me every time I start it up that there is a new version available. The setting is in the 'Layers' section of all places.

It works perfect. Any change that you sell a version for Windows7?

The problem is that it would be expensive to set-up a second distribution method for Windows 7. And Windows 7 is a market that is decreasing in size. The market for this (on Windows 10) is already really small.
