Hello All
I m from Turkey and this is my first post on forum. I like to ride scooter motorbike and travel long distances. That is why Google Earth and navigation device important for me.
I do not like to use navigation like "take me and ride to this point". I like to create my own route on Google Earth by thousands of clicks and when I ride the scooter follow this line. From this point I came across BaseCamp software on Youtube doing this my dream.
I bought a car navigation Garmin Nuvi 2589LM last week and installed on my scooter. Wish to have a Zumo model but they are so expensive !!!
I planning a scooter tour at the and of May 2016 from Bodrum-Turkey to Greece and islands. As usual I prepeared a road map on Google Earth in one month. If you are interested in here is my route map - http://bit.ly/scooterileyunanistanturu and my Facebook trip site https://www.facebook.com/scooterileyunanistanturu/
I exported my map (KMZ file) from Google Earth to BaseCamp as a track. I can see the roads (27000points-5800km) I will follow and hundreds of waypoint marks. I converted this track to route on BaseCamp and transferred to my Nuvi device. While I convert it I thicked "Choose the number of points automatically" option. Because If I limit it I was loosing points on track and lines were going directly. :(
I do not want to write to much. I did not see my route plan on Nuvi because of 200 points limit on routes after I ve red forums on internet. I was really disappointment and still crying.
Ok I said myself the reason might be slow working on navigation device. I devided my track per 200 points and now I have 135 new diffirent tracks. (Track 001…Track 135) Some of tracks are about 3-5km due to road bends, some of them are 100km due to straight road.
Uploaded all these tracks to Nuvi navigation. At this time I can see 135 items in Trip Planner. Everything seems ok. As I said some tracks are 5km which will takes change the another trip in 6 munites. This is very annoying while ride the scooter :(
In my opinion there should be a option in Trip Planner menu on Nuvi navigation to add all these tracks each other like a batch file. I m sure It is not difficult to do this.
I wrote a story :) Thank you for reading and hope [FONT=Arial Black]Garmin developers can see my post :)
