Another classic newbie question, I suppose. Don't ask me why I was talked into buying the 60Csx at REI the other day - well, I guess the truth was I can't really afford the newer models . . .
Anyway, after installing Basecamp (and then fixing the crash-on-load problem), I started happily playing with the software. I set some waypoints, made a few routes (24k southwest area maps), set some tracks. Not the greatest user interface, but it works. I plugged in the 60Csx, and to my surprise, I was able to transfer the waypoints and routes! Yay!
But when I look at those routes on my 60Csx, I see that they don't actually follow the trails, like they did in basecamp. As I zoomed into the map, it seems the routes I saved were a series of straight lines that didn't follow the little trails on the topo - being off by anywhere from 50 to 300 feet.
Any reason why this is happening? Basecamp is accessing very well-trodden trails in the Sandia Mountains here, so the topo data for the trails theoretically shouldn't be off . . .
Thanks in advance for the help - it's probably something simple, right?
