I'm using Basecamp to plan a 2000 mile motorbike trip, some on national forest trails. I'm using the TOPO 24k maps.
There are some places where I need to get between two trails which don't meet on the TOPO maps, but which do join in reality. When I place waypoints and use 'Make New Route' to create a route from the waypoints, Auto Routing is thrown off by these segments - it doubles back and goes around in circles.
Is there a way in Basecamp to make a route where 99% of the route is Auto Routed but with a few custom hand-drawn segments that are routed by me directly? (I tried drawing a Trail but that doesn't work). Or is there a way to 'edit' the underlying maps to add a new trail that is not shown?
Right now my workaround is to break my route into multiple segments, which is a pain. Any other solution?
Thanks
Jon
