To be clear, there are two main issues we are tracking with the beta.
The app crashes immediately upon running BaseCamp. From what we can tell, this is exclusively caused by the language not being English.
The app freezes. The screen still is visible, but the app doesn't respond. We haven't solved this issue yet and are still working on it.
I also have the app freeze on a new macbook air.
An other question to the beta: are there plans to support the edge 800 in basecamp. Currently it is impossible for me to import waypoints which i collected on my edge 800. The tracks can be exported from TC, so this is not that big issue for me.

Yes Edge 500 and 800 support is planned for the next release. It will read waypoints and tracks.
