Any reports of Basecamp on a new M1 mac?

I'm looking for reports of people running basecamp on one of the new M1 macs. If anyone has one, please let us know how basecamp works.

@garmin - I see a lot of disgruntled users on the app store and other places griping about basecamp. Though there is room for improvement, please keep continuing to supporting Basecamp, I use it often and have found no better tool.

I have a Mac Studio with 64GB RAM and with Ventura Basecamp has become virtually unusable. No idea what's going on as this is one of the fastest desktop computers you can buy

I'm running an M1 Macbook air on Monterey (12.6.2) and basecamp runs fine in 3D mode, but is very sluggish in 2D, so I imagine some coding bug. I don't like 3D mode, so I drag the perspective arrow so it is almost 2D and leave it at that.

Wow!! A transformation - back to the way it used to be, with everything pretty much instantaneous, rather than waiting a second for any response from a mouse click or drag. Thanks for the tip. Like you, I dislike 3D mode, but at least it's now usable until somebody fixes the bug.

I can also confirm that it's unusable version 4.8.12 I'm on a loaded Late 2021 16" MacBook Pro M1 Max w/ Silicon, OS Ventura 13.1. Only way to use it is as McKee stated in 3D. THANK YOU McKee!!! In addition, I have to jump through older generation USB dock and cables to even get it downloaded on my 595LM.... as shown HERE. If you're running Windows, you're probably be alright. If you're on a Mac, I woudn't hold my breath for an update..... Garmin is usually behind at least 3 years or more as usual.

I have a brand new MacBook Air M2 with 24GB RAM running Ventura 13.3.1 and 2D is absolutely unusable. Garmin, please fix this!

Basecamp 4.8.13 works ok on my M2 Air with Ventura 13.3.1. Responsivness of map scrolling is acceptable - even in 2D. No need to switch to 3D.

Hi Peter454, does your M2 Air have the silicon processor...I have tried numerous times to use Basecamp on my Mac Book M2 Pro and it just freezes. I have installed Rosetta 2 as recommended but still no joy. I have contacted Garmin and await their response...Frustrating...

Add Garmin Basecamp/Express to "Full Disk Access" in Privacy & Security settings. This fixed it all for me and seemingly others around here.

I was having the same issue on my M1 MacBook Air (Monterey 12.7.1). I was trying to solve it by using an often mentioned app called Android File Transfe, but was not able to get it to work. I finally came across an app called Commander One. Once downloaded to my Mac, my GPSMAP and BaseCamp seem to work.
