Runs extremely slow in Big Sur

Basecamp worked fine before I switched to the Big Sur Beta.

Now it runs extremely slow and I get the beach ball every time I click anything.

I have found a solution for me, MacBook Pro Late 2013: Select Menu "View" > "Show 3D Maps only" (translated from the German version, maybe the English version says something different). Then BaseCamp runs…

Exactly. Well said. The fact that Garmin is dead silent on this means they were probably thinking it would just work without having to touch a thing.. Not a good sign.

See "3D solution" below. HOWEVER, please Garmin, do not consider this a valid long time workaround. 3D works but I hate it. Poor graphics and it is a nuisance to compare what I see in BC and what I see…

I can't see myself buying ANY new Garmin hardware when they refuse to fix their software.

I've just (2020-11-12) updated to the official Version of MacOS 11.0.1 (20B29), and there ist no new Version of BaseCamp, so I send a Mail to the support of Garmin. I'm looking forward to their answer, which I'll post here....

Issue still persists with release version of Big Sur and Basecamp 4.8.10 - and no sign of Garmin (maybe they lost).

Also in Big Sur 11.0.1 - Garmin Basecamp 4.8.9 is not working. Every 4-5 seconds the "ball" is turning, indicating that something is going on. Not possible to use the program!

I am having the same problem with Big Sur 11.0.1 (full release / not beta), on an Intel iMac Pro. Maps from my GPSMAP 66i look like they are going to take about 20 minutes to load into Basecamp vs. 2 minutes on an older MacBook Pro running macOS 10.

No changes after betas on release... now Garmin SLOWLY prepares some upgrade...

Who could've known that BaseCamp has the same issue with the final release that it already had with the Beta versions. Maybe somebody should explain to Garmin what Betas are for...
