Basecamp worked fine before I switched to the Big Sur Beta.
Now it runs extremely slow and I get the beach ball every time I click anything.

I have found a solution for me, MacBook Pro Late 2013: Select Menu "View" > "Show 3D Maps only" (translated from the German version, maybe the English version says something different). Then BaseCamp runs…
Exactly. Well said. The fact that Garmin is dead silent on this means they were probably thinking it would just work without having to touch a thing.. Not a good sign.
See "3D solution" below. HOWEVER, please Garmin, do not consider this a valid long time workaround. 3D works but I hate it. Poor graphics and it is a nuisance to compare what I see in BC and what I see…
Hmm.. I thought it was working.. I just tested again and no.. Sorry about that. Ignore my previous message.
I tried to update and it says nothing available.
Here is the download site: www8.garmin.com/.../download_details.jsp
I just tried 4.8.10 and no improvement. Spinning beach ball and it locks up.
Same here with 4.8.10 and Big Sur 11.0 bèta (20A5384c)
Running 10.15.7 Catalina newest and latest. Running Basecamp 4.8.10. And it is so slow and such a shame as I have just bought a brand new Garmin XT. What's the alternative? Gaia maps are excellent and can export a GPX file...... If I create a route then download the GPX to an SD card...does anyone know if this will work? Tring to plan my mega trip!!!
I run windows 10 through bootcamp and basecamp works fine. I had to watch a youtube video on how to work it, and now it makes sense. Bootcamp is still hard to use, but makes routes on my Zumo XT.
