Fenix 6 and Mapinstall

I bought some third party maps to install to my fenix 6. The mapinstall completes installing the map to the device but the maps are not shown on the device. Is there any alternative to mapinstall?

There is an issue with the latest versions of BaseCamp and MapInstall. The solution is to downgrade to an earlier version or if the map is available as a .img file simply copying that file to your device…

It goes through the motions, progress bar and all. Nothing is copied to the watch.

Personally I've just deleted Mac Basecamp, which is a shame cause I think interface wise it's better than the PC one. But if it fails in a basic task like copying a map, it's pretty useless to me.
