Mapinstall Not Working with OSX 10.11.1

Basecamp 4.5.2 has resolved compatibility with Mac El Capitan OSX 10.11.1 and my eTrex Venture. However, Mapinstall does not connect or maintain the connection long enough to work. Help appreciated

    Help with Mapinstall

Does anyone know how to get Mapinstall working on El Capitan? Help I am stuck
  • If you're just trying to install maps on your device, then you can try Garmin Express instead.

I've alerted the proper team about the issue with Mapinstall and will let you know what I find out.

El Capitan 10.11.1 and Basecamp 4.5.2 - Garmin Vista Cx OK as USB device NOT as GPS

My Garmin Vista Cx no longer works with El Capitan 10.11.1 and Basecamp 4.5.2.

When the Vista Cx connects as USB device in normal GPS mode, Basecamp does not recognize it as a GPS device, and Basecamp cannot upload and download tracks/routes/data.

When the Vista Cx is set up as a USB device with Setup/Interface/USB Mass Storage option, Basecamp recognizes it as a USB mass storage device and I can see map data installed on the device. (VERY SLOW MAP LOAD, but that is a different issue.)

MapInstall does not recognize the attached Vista Cx in GPS mode, either.

Basecamp and GPS unit are now unusable. Is a fix in the works with Basecamp 4.5.3?

(Checked the Vista Cx with Basecamp 2.0.8 on Windows 10 and it works fine in both GPS and USB mass storage modes. )
  • Thank you for letting us know about this issue. I've confirmed that Vista Cx is not mounting in BaseCamp running on El Capitan. Appears to be working correctly in 10.10. I've opened a case, but I can't say what release a fix will be made available.

Just upgraded my mid 2011 (USB2) MBA to El Capitan and Basecamp 4.5.2 no longer recognises my 276C. Yes well aware that 276C is not a mass storage device and will not show in Finder but it did show in Basecamp when using Yosemite. Any planned fix?

    Thanks
  • I'll look at it when I get to the eTrex VistaCx issue.

I'll look at it when I get to the eTrex VistaCx issue.

I would very much appreciate a fix - cannot download my biking tracks, suspect there are many bikers who still use the very useful 276C.
