Virb Edit 3.1.0 fails to install

I've downloaded the installation file for Virb Edit 3.1.0 but although I get an info box to say it is decompressing and then another that tells me 'Please wait while Virb Edit installs. This could take a few minutes.'

However, whether I click on the OK button or not, it doesn't appear to go any further.

I'm using Windows 7, and I can run video processing software by other camera vendors.

I'd appeciate any help.

    Try this:

Make sure to uninstall any previous versions and attempt to run the installer again.

You might also try running the installer as admin by right click on the exe and selecting “Run as Administrator”. This should already be the case but wouldn’t hurt to try.

    Same Issue Here

I agree, I'm seeing exactly the same issue, install appears to be working ok, says it will take a few minutes to install then NOTHING. No software, no disk activity, no error/progress messages. At this rate I'll be returning the VIRB for a refund and buying a GoPro instead.

GARMIN - Sort this out, this must have been an issue since the launch of 3.1.0 It needs fixing ASAP

Sorry but the installation completes fine but the software does not start. Happened with the previous versions as well. When I first started using it, it worked for a few weeks than just stopped. Have tried loading on multiple computers and same problem.

The OP removed his old version. This is my first foray into action cams so had no software installed. This was a fresh install that fails !!

    Solution found !!!

I called the UK Garmin Support desk, the tech I spoke to said they were aware of the issue and gave me a workaround, so god knows why they haven't put something workable on the website.

Anyway, it's really easy, all you need to do is download the 3.1.0 install file as usual. This time don't run it but "extract" it into a new folder using Winzip, this will then give you all the install files, launch the installation .exe file from there (I forget what it was called) and it installs perfectly (well it did for me). Good luck!
