Issue with video playback in VIRB Edit

Hi,

I have recently purchased a VIRB Elite, shot a quick video and imported it into VIRB Edit. During the video playback, no video appears (black picture). I can hear the audio.

I tried to play the video with VLC and Windows Media Player, both worked fine.

Any advice?

Return the VIRB to the store for a refund?

Seriously, if you're within the refund period...it's something to consider....

Video plays fine in VLC and Windows Media Player. So I think the issue is with video playback in VIRB Edit. Keen to hear if anyone else had similar issues and how they managed to resolve them (codecs, settings?).

What video card do you have?

People have had success updating the video drivers, reverting the video drivers, or disabling certain features of the card.

ATI cards seem to be especially fickle.

I've got the same problem - black screen just audio in VIRB Edit, video plays fine in other media players.
I've managed to figure out a lot of the other problems, but this has me stumped...

Wow, this is a serious bummer. I am having EXACTLY the same problem. As far as I can tell from these forums, this problem spans every kind and windows computer with every kind of hardware. Mine is an AMD quad core with NVIDIA card and all I get is a black screen with audio. even overlays my Garmin 510 data to the black screen. I feel like this is going to make editing somewhat difficult Garmin, as I can't remember at what minute and what location I said everything that I said. Or when I was breathing heavily specifically.
