Virb Edit Accel and Braking overlay showing no data

I have a Virb elite and have put together a little vid to just test what it can do. However I noticed that the Acceleration overlay doesn't show any readings. Its like there just isn't anything coming from the accelerometer. Does anyone know if this is a known issue?

Cheers

Try re-installing 2.3.2 although that may cause other (solved) problems to return.

    I've found a solution, a work around:
First go to the clip library.
Right-click on the problem clip and select "Save GPS log.."
(save the log in a place where you can find it and give it usefull name)
Open the video that contains this clip.
Select the clip and under GPS log select replace.
Find and select the exported GPS file.
Now the G-force meters should work.

G-Force Sensors Show Zero Gs in Video

I am having a similar problem. When I add G-Force sensors to my video, there is no data being displayed when I know there are G-Forces at work. All different types of meters that I've added show zero Gs.

I don't have a copy of Virb Edit 2.3.2, so I can't test to see if it works there. I'll attach a copy of a GPS file that should have acceleration data, yet displays zero Gs on all sensors in Virb Edit 2.4.0.

Hi, will the G-force, braking and accelerating gauges work if the camera is actually mounted inside the car windshield rather than outside?

I suppose so, I dont have a video present where I've done that.
I did test last april indoors without GPS reception and it worked.

In VIRB Edit 2.4.0 something went wrong, it worked in 2.3.2.
So the acceleraters do work, also indoors.

That should work. The accelerometer does not care if it's inside or outside the car.

    Falagar,
I am having a similar issue to the one described in this thread. In my case the acceleration data intermittently fails to display showing "--" where the data should be. This problem appears to affect just the overlays that would display gforce data but none of the other overlays (that I have tested anyway). By intermittent I mean that within the same video it will display properly and then at some points not display. Unfortunately, it seems that the points at which it fails to display are those when I want it the most (i.e. during significant gforce events). I have looked at the gpx file and the acceleration and other data appear to be fine at these points (i.e. not corrupted and similar to anywhere else in the file). I have a short video and associated gps files that demonstrate this problem, which I could provide if I knew who to send them to. I am running VIRB Edit Version 2.7.1.0, which is the latest version. Has anyone ever figured out what is causing this?

I have some updated info relative to this problem. I attached the suspect gpx file to an unrelated video clip and the display stops showing the gforce data at the same "map" location as when the file is attached to the related video clip. Then I attached an unrelated gpx file to the suspect video clip and the acceleration data displays normally during the portion of the video in which the related gpx file would stop displaying. This tells me that the problem is with the gpx file. However, I have looked at the data in the file and can't see anything unusual about the points in time when the display quits showing the acceleration data as compared to those when it displays.

Here's a further update. I downloaded a trial version of a program called Dashware and loaded both the suspect video and gpx files into it and the acceleration data displays without issues. Obviously there is nothing wrong with the files and the problem has to be VIRB Edit. I guess if no solution is provided I'll have to spend $50 to buy the Dashware program or another like it.
