Virb Edit 2.2.5 not importing GPX files from camera

When importing the video from the camera into Virb Edit, the mp4 files are nicely copied to the location I have configured. But the GPX and FIT files are not. If I then disconnect the camera and want to edit the video later, I do not have the GPX available. And the camera might be out on other activities or otherwise not available to me. At the moment I need to copy those files over to disk manually myself.

What I would like to see is that when I import the video to my computer, the corresponding GPX and FIT files were also copied over. Preferably into the same file structure as on the SD card. I have noticed that if I mimic that filestructure also on disk, Virb Edit automatically find and use my GPX data when editing, without the need to have the Virb connected or manually adding a GPX track to the clip. So:

Virb recordings directory:
-- DCIM -- subdir-I-have-forgotten-name-of -- mp4/jpg files
-- Garmin -- Activities -- .fit files
-- Garmin -- GPX -- .gpx files

If that filestructure could be automatically created and used under the configured import destination in Virb Edit, and that GPX and FIT files are treated the same as the mp4 files in terms of finding new and copy them over, it would be great. Oh, would also like any JPGs to be copied over with the import as well.

Thanks =)

On Windows, the GPX files for imported clips are stored at: C:\Users\{USERNAME}\AppData\Roaming\Garmin\VIRB Edit\Database\2\RawMovies\{ID}\track.gpx

You can use the thumbnail.jpg file to identify which video it is.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks for your feedback. We'll see if we can add an easy way to export just the gpx/fit files for a clip.

They are definitely copied, just not into the videos folder where we figured only videos should go.

    VIRB Elite .gpx import

    Hope this helps.

On Windows, the GPX files for imported clips are stored at: C:\Users\{USERNAME}\AppData\Roaming\Garmin\VIRB Edit\Database\2\RawMovies\{ID}\track.gpx.

Thanks for that, but still having a problem. In the above directory, there is a thumbnail, and an .xml. but no track data.

    Any Ideas?

For what it's worth, I suggest it woiuld be easier if the track fikle were imported into the same directory as the mp4.

If there is no gpx data in that folder, then there either was no gpx data associated with that video when you imported, or you used manual import (which doesn't import gpx, just links to the video).

Although this is the WINDOWS part of the forum, I found this in the MAC part.

For Mac, the folder is: "/Users/{username}/Library/Application Support/Garmin/VIRB Edit/Database/"
Further hints on how to get to this folder you can find here https://forums.garmin.com/showthread.php?79697-How-to-display-gauges-on-certain-parts-of-video-not-the-entire-video&p=285354#post285354

When you look in this folder and sub-folders you can find the .FIT .GPX and so on.
Also you can find the MovieProjects and the RawMovies there. They contain information about the Movie's and Clips.
The Clips you've already found in the specified location.

You can also export the GPX file from the Clip Library.
