You can download it at www.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=6591.

This release should fix the export issues on Windows 8.1.

It should also fix some start-up crashes that were caused by incorrect track calculations.

One thing that is not yet fixed is the start-up issue on computers with on-board Intel graphics chipsets (Intel GMA 3x00). We can reproduce that issue but won't be able to get a fix for this out till January.

Please report back if you still cannot export or if you get any kinds of crashes.
  • You can make an experiment uploading to vimeo.com. After making some upload tests with GoPro (960p) video edits a while ago I think I got better quality on vimeo over youtube
  • I can't get my 720P/60fps video to sync with data.
The data runs out ahead of the video.

    2.2.5.0 Windows

I've tried with the Virb Elite's data, and I've tried with my Garmin 500 data. In both cases, the data runs off ahead of the video. :(

    virb edit and windows 7

I installed Virbedit today as I got a new Virb for a Christmas gift. I am using Windows 7. When I downloaded Virbedit it updated me to the current Microsoft .NET of 4.5.1. I restarted the computer (repeatedly) and when I click on Virbedit to start, I end up getting a blue screen box of error reported and says it is contacting Garmin. The blue box contains a series of lines of different computer information and at the bottom says attached is a mini dump (I assume of the computer error information). It then asks me for my email address and a brief description of the problem. I only have one computer in the house with Windows 7 as the other is XP. Can you please let me know what I can do to fix this problem? I have uninstalled Virbedit 3 times and re-installed and it keeps doing the same thing when I try to launch Virbedit.

    Thanks
    Len

i have exactly the same problem on my dell xps13 with win7. Cant even get edit installed !

Ok, so it seems like we are getting closer. I use Windows 7 with an ATI 4890 card. This most recent version of Virb Edit allows me to export. Yay!..... but it ain't fixed quite yet.

I can only export videos (regardless of length) if they are untouched. No trimming. I can add multiple videos together and export. If I trim, it will export about 12% then crash.

In addition, this morning I got a new error message. If I attempt to replace the overlays with a file from 810, Virb edit immediately crashes when I click the button "replace". I get this error message:

I noticed this was mentioned within the first couple of posts in this thread. I do however have a dedicated graphics card. In addition, this error didn't happen yesterday! The replace overlays function was working fine. Not sure why it wouldn't work today. Maybe Virb Edit got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning?

We believe fixed the crash you posted. I believe you can prevent the crash by connecting the VIRB (or whichever device you last added data from). VIRB Edit is trying to browse to your last import location and fails if you disconnected the device. This won't happen in 2.3.

I am hoping that 2.3 will fix your export failures as well. It should be available by the end of this month.

"In the next update, can you also insert pictures and add transitions in your movie?"

Please only post in English on these boards.

Sorry, no transitions or picture support in 2.3. Transitions are tentatively planned for 2.4, pictures will come later.

Ok thanks, I'll use the google translator to write on this forum, even if you do not think is very accurate

*An interesting result from a test, the import to VIRBedit was extremely slow; left it to process overnight and decided to take the result to the office to run on a higher end PC.

File reports 4.66Gb but when attempting to copy to an 8Gb pen drive it reports the file is too big.

Currently loading it on a Nexus 7 to take as this has more storage, we'll see how big the office 'puter says the file is.

Also runs jerkily on a laptop and even has some jerkiness on a Compaq desktop with ATI Radeon 3850 card, I'm using the 'Tall HD' setting as recommended for helmet use.
