Hi I tried to export a video to a file (1080) and then to youtube using the export feature. Once it reached 100%, I got a similar error message in both cases:
- During export to file:
"There was an error exporting the video"

- During export to youtube:
"Error exporting video for youtube upload"

An idea on how to solve this?

Export error

I just got a VIRB and downloaded version 2.2.2.0 of Virb Edit. No overlay, sound or editing, just trying to export the video and I keep getting an export error. Running Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit. It also fails when I try to upload to YouTube.

Add this to the lack of a proper (included) mount for cycling and I'm starting to regret this purchase...

Can anyone recommend an alternative software?

just a simple video, no overlays or anything.
on Windows7.

I have no (major) problem with 2.2.2.0
I can export my video's.
Keep in mind that VIRB-Edit before uploading, it first exports the movie to a temporary file.
So if export doesn't work, uploading will also fail.
When I had problems with 2.1 FALAGAR asked for my clips so the programmers could use them for tests.
Maybe you can make your clips available for him too.
Place them in some sort of SkyDrive or DropBox and send him the link.

the issue seems to be the GPS track. when I remove the track by clicking on the 'Data Overlays' button then I'm able to export again.
only selecting 'none' as the overlay doesn't seem to work.

Not the most helpful response I know ;)

But export works well on the Mac!

VIRB Edit 2.2.2 has issues with export on certain PCs with no or low-end graphics cards. VIRB Edit 2.2.3 will address this and should be out very soon.

Additionally, there is a 4 GB limit for exported videos on Windows 7 (not Windows 8). Export will fail as soon as your resulting video is larger than 4 GB. (That's about 25 minutes of 1080p video.)

Export Issues

Exporting of a single large video was not the problem, (3 gig) When I took the same video and trimmed Left and Trimmed Right and split one or two times to cut the length down to 5 minutes the video would not export or upload to You Tube.

Thanks FALAGAR for the reply. I look forward to release 2.2.3. My latest issue with the Virb is it's constantly freezing with the quickest solution being to take out the battery. Happened 3x on today's ride to work. I have to say, for what it costs, the Virb Elite has so far been a (very expensive) frustratingly bad purchase. And it crashed again... On the way home from work it froze, stopped recording (lost the video) and after holding the power button down for 30-40 seconds, I gave up and took the battery out again.
