Is there anywhere I can download the previous version while you sort this problem out?

I've identified a bug that causes a crash when you do not have an audio playback device connected to your computer during video playback. This issue seems consistent with the symptoms described in this thread. Those of you seeing crashes, do you have some kind of audio playback device plugged in? If you plug on in, does it fix the crash? Let me know how things go

Hm.. interesting. Yes, I have an audio device connected, and my default playback device was set to "Speakers" (RealTek High Definition Audio). However, if I changed the default device to "Realtek Digital Output" the crashes no longer seems to occur. Of course, now I can't hear the audio, since I'm using headphones connected to the analog output, not the digital one, but at least it's a step in the right direction.

Hmm, that's interesting. I have an audio device connected, in fact I'm using headphones. The default playback device is set to "Speakers" on "Realtek High Definition Audio". Of course, now I can't hear the audio since I'm using headphones connected to the analog jack on my computer, but at least this is a step in the right direction.

I have an audio device connected and Virb Edit still crashes. Tried with speakers, headphones and using Realtek Digital Out as standard but no luck.

But... One of my twenty something videos works and don't cause Virb Edit to crash and it's a timelapse video with no audio in it. So maybe there's something still there to investigate.
  • After installing 5.1 I imported and edited a test video.

When attempting to EXPORT I immediately get the message 'VIRB Edit has encountered an error and is closing the program'. Same problems I was getting with 4.2.3.

    Back to VIRB Edit 3.6

    New software is lame.

I can play old videos but the new G-Metrix stuff is terrible.I can't drag and drop or get any of the gauges to appear. This new version really sucks! You guys really need to make the 4.3 version available until this gets sorted out.
Maybe there should be 360 software separately.

Ditto, I had my system set to Speakers on "Realtek High Definition Audio" and saw the crashes. I haven't tested with other audio devices yet.
  • I really wonder what kind of 'real world' testing Garmin does before the release these updates.

On my machine both 4.2.3 and 5.1.0 crash immediately when attempting to export a edited file

Version 3.6 works for me and I return to it after trying the new updates and having them fail.
