  • Sure looks different. I installed it and it's now up and running on my Mac. I like what I see so far.
  • So happy to see VE finally imports and allows photos in the videos. Thanks for that.

The screen shot is the Mac version but hopefully it's the same in Windows.

  • Tried out adding geolocated pictures to a video and perhaps I don't understand it all yet, but it seems to me that I need to split a clip, then insert the photo in the split. It would be nice if the photo auto-located itself in the video, assuming they were both shot at the same time. Is that supposed to happen?
  • I am trying to import movie clips and pictures from a three hour trip yesterday, but I can't understand the sorting.
Also, it would be great if the poster picture for the Video is the first frame of the movie and not something in the middle :)
  • I think it's great that we can create videos with nothing but pictures, and that the data in the picture can be included in the finished video. Here's a quick test video I made of pictures taken on a ride a few days ago.

  • I am also seeing track/video sync issues as shown here. The screen shot also shows another bug.

  • GEOMONSTER: We've hopefully improved how well alignment works in newly imported videos, but this won't go and alter the alignment of previously imported videos. Was this video imported from your VIRB Elite in 3.0.1?

Kave: The sorting in your media library should just be newest -> oldest. That is generally the case, but it looks like the sorting in "Last Import" is quite a bit weirder than that in Mac VIRB Edit. Thanks for the heads up! We'll look into that.

Yes, the video in question was created and imported the day before I found out about, and installed 3.0.1.

Re the problem I have with screen captures not working, is it possible that VE is looking for a folder which doesn't exist on my computer? My pictures and videos are actually all on an external drive, not the default \pictures location. I can create the default location on my computer just for those screen caps if necessary if you tell me what to create. It doesn't look like that location can be changed in the Preferences.

I can confirm it is only in the "Last Import" where the problem is. Otherwise it is correct.
A big THANK you for a great application and for your feedback.
I would say it is something for other Garmin developers to follow.
  • GEOMONSTER: Clicking the camera icon next to the edit player saves screenshots to Users/USERNAME/Pictures/VIRB . Do you have a user Pictures folder? That should be all that's necessary to get that working. It may be that folder's got special permissions on your computer, though. You can right click on it and do a "Get Info... > Sharing & Permissions..." to look into that.

Kave: Thanks :)! We're happy to hear that you're finding it useful.
