I have been in the software and technology business for 30 years and the HP download is terrible at best. A user should not have to attempt to download the s/w multiple times, change file names etc.
My update installation hung at extraction. I went to my User folder, then AppData_Local_Temp and deleted all files. Then I uninstalled and reinstalled HP and checked for updates, d/ the update and it extracted fine.
Thanks for the suggestion to look for a recently modified folder.
