v3 adds a cattle Grid to the final climb, the rest of this ride looks good so if anyone rides on the Tacx could you select the short temp subcourse Ive made to test if the grid activates at the correct spot or not. If it does not then please say if your using BT or Ant+

  • Aren't   the ANt+ sync road feel issues which have been reported a year ago not fixed?

I have done the Monastery Tour 1+2. This a very nice rides. Monastery Tour 2 should have a short road feel section at 35.2 km.

  • Just finished the whole v3 Isle of Skye (Scotland)
Did not experience any road feeling (ANT+)
At 28,30 the resistance felt out of place. It should have been higher when looking at the gradient. A little later more resistance was applied but the gradient was already declining again. Not sure what happened.
Climbpro widget was missing, but that was to be expected (for now)

A more general question: Why is the amount of negative(?) resistance on the downhill between courses sometimes different while gradients are the same? I mean I don't fully spin out (>125 RPM) and I can still put proper power through the pedals, like on this course.

I also did the Donau River ride. Road-feel was a complete mess. Not stopping at the right sections (ANT+). But this is not proper actionable feedback so I'll ride it again sometime soon :) this time on BT to find out if that works any better.

v3 Created a course starting 30m before cattle grid.

    Trainer-Neo 3M.

    BT-Cattle grid worked correctly

LAN connection- Cattle grid worked correctly

Ant+ Cattle grid not working. The resistance and video playback was incorrect. On one of the short tests the cattle grid did activate 20m too late and then would not stop until finished cycling (may have continued until end of course)

  • Ok, so everyone, please use the BT option to connect to your Tacx trainer if you can. If you have it, it's kind of obvious that the Ant+ issues (road feel & grades out of place) are something they probably can't solve.

Was your Tacx Neo always plugged into the mains? It should just keep on increasing the inertia as you keep spinning, The effect is identical for all the rides, its just maths formula being run inside the software so -10% should feel the same on all the routes.

The thing that will have a major effect on the feel of descents is if the trainer had become unpowered. It's easy to miss as the trainer will power itself while riding, but it can't simulate the high inertia of a descent if it does not have mains power.

  • Was your Tacx Neo always plugged into the mains?

Yeah it was. Good point about the inertia without mains plugged in in combination with descending. I'll monitor this.
Meanwhile I've switched from ANT+ to BT and maybe this will have an effect (like it did for the roadfeel).

    Thanks for pointing this out.
I've switched to BT from ANT+ and redid the v2 River Danube film. It was great this time! road-feeling was kicking in even on some small sections and stopping at the right times. Howeverrrr, It did not work/engage on the cattle grid test section you've created on Isle of Skye :/. Maybe the section was too short in combination with my power/speed?

Its really short, I had hoped it might work as its on a climb, I mostly ignore cattle grids otherwise

  • Hmm , strange. I cannot reproduce this not/engage cattle grid. I have just done 6 tests on my sub course starting 30m before cattle grid. Using BT that Cattle grid worked/engaged and ended correctly on every test ride. Different speeds from slow to higher power faster.

Update-Tacx Created Test Grid 500m Sub Course. The cattle grid worked correctly using Bluetooth.

  • The cattle grid on Skye worked perfectly for me - Windows 11, Neo 2T, Bluetooth
