New climbing widget

The beta is up and running again. I experienced the new climbing widget for the first time (on Tacx, have seen it outside with my Edge). I think there are several things that could be improved:

1. Colors: the profile displayed yellow for the steepest part and orange for the less steep parts. This is counter-intuitive, as the rest of the TDA has it exactly opposite.

2. Information: we lack any information on time spent on the climb so far, ETA at the top, and altitude done so far. All of these were there on the old widget. I think all of these were nice to have, and some of them are essential.

  • I rode the Quirang in Skye again today. Last time I did so, the ClimbPro widget didn't appear, but it did this morning.

ETA is now alternating with climb no. so I'm happy with that.

The colours seem to have changed so that it's now Green, Yellow, Orange, Red.

I'd still like to see the Climb Complete screen saved as a photo.

I think at least in the Desktop version the Climb Pro will not show if you select a subcourse either created or set like Part 2, I guess this is a bug.

  • On both occasions it was the full ride I'd selected, so I don't know what the random element was. I'll likely do this ride again so it'll be interesting to see if it works again.

Hmm, then it is probably something else,  Perhaps someone needs to manually add the new ride KOM data to a new form or something like this that does not make any sense if looking at it without any explanation at all.

  • Answered in the other thread also, it's a temporary issue where new rides will probably not have a climb pro box as someone has to manually add my data to another location for it to work. This will be automated at some point.

  • The СlimPro window stays in the center for a long time and the numbers are small (for me). Can it be moved up?

  • Hello everyone, I noticed that when you complete a climb, the totals displayed are mostly wrong. Did anyone else experience this?

Here is an example from today

    Tacx App totals:

    "Real" totals:

  • The average heart rate in the final widget is the heart rate at the top of the mountain, not the average. I'm missing the max slope.

  • 'd still like to see the Climb Complete screen saved as a photo.

That's a great idea about the photo. Perhaps it would be ideal if they also displayed this info inside Garmin Connect, with all your past efforts.?

  • At least ClimbPro data as in real world with Edge x40/x50 devices in Connect activity details

looking at others that have done a Tacx RLV in connect I cant see how the KOMs look, The Scotland film I did published nothing for the climb. Looking at my own outside rides I only see a generic 'Climb 1 Climb 2 etc)  which is obviously a bit pointless as all the climbs here have names (often with a Strava Segment Sign painted on the actual road). Does TacxApps pass the official climb name to the climb Pro display for the rides that this works on?

The ideal would have been to match Climb Pro to the reality of the official start & stop, if these locations are in some Climb Pro Data base then actual names could be given & these could form a new clean Segment database that I suspect just about every cyclist will probably use.

To add more some big mountains could be joined to display the actual climb, like for example the Col de Croix de fer is split into 5 different climbs just now.. :-)
